  • Assisted Dr. J. Oliver, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Qld, Australia, to establish a marine monitoring program along the Yemen Red Sea coast. The objective of the program is to monitor the percent cover of the living coral along the Yemen Red Sea coast. Feb.-March 1998
  • Participated in a training program to learn methods used to survey tropical marine eco-systems, such as coral reefs and mangrove forest. The program was supervised by Dr. Tony Rouphael, Assistant Marine Expert, GEF/UNDP. Jan.-April 1998
  • Participated in a regional training workshop on marine surveys and monitoring, organized by PERSGA/GEF- Hodeidah, Republic of Yemen. 6-11 December 1997
  • Participated in the GEF marine survey of the Red Sea islands from Mayyun to Al-Fousht Island. During this trip I trained on seaman ship, small boat handling, survey technique, night and advanced diving. May- June 1997
  • Participated in the GEF marine survey of the Red Sea from Midi to Al-Khokhah. June-July 1996
  • Participated in US-sponsored oceanographic research project, with Louisiana University, to Study the exchange of water between the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. During this research program I gained experience in navigation, water sampling, handling of moored and cable-lowered instrumentation and the processing and analysis of Oceanographic data. 1996

  • During my B.Sc study I worked on a research project to assess the mean sea level change in the Jeddah area, Saudi Arabia. Data analysis was done using Excel, Sea Spect and Minitab. 1994
