Teachers Workshop

The schools and colleges continue to play an important role in shaping the future of tomorrow’s societies and this is possible when our teaching community realizes its responsibilities and obligations. If the teachers lose the excitement of a searching mind, they fail to inspire the students and the students then end up in studying only for the exams. Most schools and colleges have crowded classrooms and modernized teaching methods are hardly available. The working group of S&T Manpower development, constituted under the Chairmanship of Dr R. A. Mashelkar, D.G. CSIR, Govt. of India felt an  urgent need to upgrade the knowledge base and  skills of the science teachers and faculty in schools and colleges. In order to accomplish this task the scheme ”faculty training and motivation” was formulated in the 10th plan.

Objective

To take up training and motivation programmes for selected science teachers to upgrade their knowledge base in new and emerging areas of science and to provide opportunities for interaction and exchange of ideas with the scientific community to refurbish and enlarge upon their knowledge and skill base.

Support

Human Resource Development Group will extend limited support to the CSIR labs taking up the programme and these labs in turn will provide the participating teachers with T.A., local hospitality and the stationery items as per the requirement during the training period.
