   A workshop on Basic techniques for the isolation and identification of health indicator bacteria concluded  
A workshop on, "Basic Techniques for the isolation and Identification of Health Indicator Bacteria from Marine Environment" was organized at the Regional Centre, Kochi, of the National Institute of Oceanography (RCK-NIO) from  22nd to  23rd July 2010. The workshop was organized jointly by Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES, Govt. of India) and National Institute of Oceanography with the objective of giving hands on training to the eleven project assistants/research fellows working in the COMAPS (Coastal Ocean Monitoring and Prediction System) programme in various institutes on isolation and identification of health indicator bacteria. Professor T.J. Pandian was also invited to deliver a talk on “Allogenics and xenogenics in Aquaculture and Conservation of Fishes” on the first day of the programme.
