Padmavibhushan Prof. C NR Rao and his wife Mrs. Indumati Rao conducted the program. Over 600 middle school children and over 60 teachers from across Goa attended the program that was held in NIO auditorium on 2nd January. He suggested the teachers to follow simple methods like story telling while teaching science to kids. He also felt that the declining scientific temper in India could be reversed only through encouraging creativity in the minds of kids. A multimedia presentation on how to learn science was given by Mrs. Indumati Rao. A set of books on learning science produced by Jawaharlal Nehru Centre were given to each participating school as compliments from Prof. Rao. Dr. VK Banakar coordinated the program with assistance from Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Goa University. This program was conducted as a part of NIO’s 42nd Foundation Day Celebration.
