Arvind Gupta makes science learning easy through

Arvind Gupta makes science learning easy through "Toys from Trash" On the occasion of celebrating foundation day of the parental organization (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) on 26th Septemebr 2008, the National Institute of Oceanography has invited Shri Arvind Gupta - an eminent personality known for popularising science in India. Shri Gupta will be demonstrating how science learning and teaching could be made simple and enjoyable through constructing simple models from every day trash to over a thousand high school students and their science teachers from across entire Goa. This unique program is scheduled between 11 am and 1 pm of 26th Septemebr. Elaborate arrangements are being made for this multi-media presentation expecting large attendance. The Director, NIO has invited all three hundred and fifty high schools of Goa for this unique program. Dr. V. K. Shri Gupta will also deliver the CSIR Foundation Day Lecture, "Science through activities" in the afternoon (4 pm). This lecture is open for all. Shri Gupta , a simple personality, well known internationally for popularizing science works at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune. Many of his admirers know him as "Green Guru" because he featured with this title on TV program "Living on the Edge". Besides this, he has also featured on different favorite channels in a variety of programmes such as MAD (POGO), Science Safari (National Geographic), and Margadarshak (ETV). He authored several popular science books and articles such as Ten Little Fingers, String Games, Little Toys, Toy-Joy, Hands-on, etc. He is the recipient of several awards for popularizing science amongst children including Indira Gandhi Prize-2008.
