INSA meet at CSIR- NIO
Public lectures during INSA meet at CSIR- NIO
The 80th Anniversary General Meeting of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi will be held at CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Dona Paula Goa, during 19-21December 2014, at the NIO auditorium, Cardium.
The INSA is the apex body of the Indian scientists representing all branches of science & technology. Its objectives encompass promotion of science in India including its application to national welfare, safeguarding the interests of scientists, establishing linkages with international bodies to foster collaboration and expression of frank opinion on national issues.
At this Annual meet, 170 delegates are expected to participate during which two mini symposiums on “Reconciliation of marine and terrestrial records of summer monsoon variability during the Holocene” and “The impact of genomic instability on aging and cancer” will be held on 19th December from 9.45 hrs onwards.
Besides some Award Lectures by eminent scientists two public lectures will be held on 20th December on “The Evolution of Social Life in Animals” by Prof. Raghavendra Gadagkar, FNA, President, Indian National Science Academy, and “ISRO's Mission to Mars driven by Science or Technology? by Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Director, Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad. Both the lectures are open to public and you are requested to occupy your seats by 17.20 hours in the NIO Auditorium, Dona Paula, Goa.
