DEVELOPMENT OF A SMALL AUV
I am presently engaged as Project Leader on the development of a small Autonomous Underwater Vehicle [AUV] that will used in high resolution bio-optical studies of blooms in coastal waters, in studies of anoxic effects in the upwelling season off the West Coast of India, and in Coral reef monitoring in the Lakswadeep Islands, India.
IO-OPTICS OF THE ARABIAN SEA
Since 1999 we have been running a large bio-optics program that has been examining :
Trichodesmium bloom phenomena in March/ April, and other blooms that appear at the end of the upwelling period ( June - November )
Satellite validation of IRS-P4 , and algorithms on optically complex waters
Established a Indo-Portuguese Cooperation in S&T with the University of Azores, Dept. of Oceanography, Portugal
