Project Assistants:
NIO offers purely temporary positions on behalf of the project
funding agencies to work in a project as "Project Assistant
(PA)". The purpose of these positions is to provide young
students an opportunity to gain work experience after their
education by assisting the project leader and his team in
various activities of the project. There are four categories
of PAs.

PA-I: Minimum qualification is B.Sc./3 years Diploma with Second class (50 %) with entry-level monthly stipend Rs.8000/-.

PA-II: Minimum qualification is M.Sc./BE/B.Tech/MBA with Second class (55%) with entry-level monthly stipend Rs.12000/.

PA-III: Minimum qualification is M.Tech/ME with Second class (55%) with entry-level or PA II with 2 years experience monthly stipend Rs.14000/-

PA-IV: Minimum qualification is Ph.D. entry-level monthly stipend is Rs.20000/-.
PA-V: Minimum qualification is Ph.D. + 2 years experience entry-level monthly stipend is Rs.25000/-
The maximum age limit for PA-I, 25 years, PA-II, 28 years PA-III, 32 years PA-IV 35 years and PA-V is 37 years as on the date of interview (qualification relaxation for SC/ST candidates 5% of the minimum and age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates as per GOI Rules)
The entry to these positions are by walk-in-interviews as advertised from time to time.
Under-qualified and over-aged candidates will not be allowed to attend the interview
Candidate selected as Project Assistants shall not be treated as employees of NIO/CSIR and shall have no right implicit or explicit for their absorption in NIO/CSIR as regular employees.

Essential Qualifications: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized Institute/university with minimum 50 % marks in aggregate at the qualifying exam.
Desirable : Two years experience in working in a hospital / dispensary. Candidates with working knowledge of computer would be preferred.
Job Requirement: Nursing work in dispensary and any other dispensary related work assigned by Medical Officer

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc in Botany from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate at the qualifying exam. Two years research experience in relevant field is compulsory.
Desirable: Experience in participation in cruises.
Job Requirement: To participate in cruises and study Bio-optical constituents of the water mass.

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Marine Geology related topic from a recognized University.
Desirable: Acquiring and interpreting ability of geochemical/isotopic/mineralogical data of marine mineral deposits. Ability to formulate, defend and implement sub-research projects in the main area of the program.
Job requirement : To assist the Project Leader/Project Scientists in various analytical work and on-board data collection. Post 3 involves laboratory up-keeping. Selected candidates should be prepared to participate in oceanographic cruises of duration of 4-6 weeks.

Project Assistant-II (THREE Positions) @ 12000 p.m. (Consolidated)
Essential Qualifications: M. Sc with Geology/Chemistry/Physics (any specialization) one position each, minimum 55% marks in aggregate at the qualifying exam.
Desirable: Knowledge in Geochemical analysis/ analytical equipments/Computer applications.
Job requirement : To assist the Project Leader/Project Scientists in various analytical work and on-board data collection. Post 3 involves laboratory up-keeping. Selected candidates should be prepared to participate in oceanographic cruises of duration of 4-6 weeks.

Essential Qualifications: B Sc with Geology/Chemistry (combination or any one as a major), minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the qualifying exam
Desirable: Experience in handling laboratory chemicals/preparing reagents/simple computer applications.
Job requirement : To assist the Project Leader/Project Scientists in various analytical work and on-board data collection. Post 3 involves laboratory up-keeping. Selected candidates should be prepared to participate in oceanographic cruises of duration of 4-6 weeks.

Job Requirement: R&D work on estuarine studies, laboratory work in preparing samples for mineralogy and chemistry, participating in cruises for samples collection etc.
