Vision:
To achieve a comprehensive knowledge of several aspects of the eastern continental margin of India and thereby transfer this knowledge to the user community
Objectives:
- To study the structural discontinuities and seismic hazards over the coastal and offshore regions of the Eastern Continental Margin of India (ECMI)-from geological and geophysical data.
- Detailed mapping of geomorphological features such as sedimentary faults, palaeo channels, V-cut valleys, gas seepages over some parts of Eastern Continental Margin of India (ECMI).
- Study of the Land-Ocean Tectonics and Neo-tectonic activity in the shelf regions
- To study the deep crustal processes of Bay of Bengal.
